The name Tannie is a mistranscription from the handwritten census information, for the correct name Fannie. This is in line with many other typos in the LDS online version of the 1880 census. I often see Goerge for George.
Likewise there is an error in the transcription of the child Josephine, which is clearly readable, though slightly faded. The census transcription names this child Joesy [actual spelling]. It is interesting that they have substituted a nickname, when the actual entry is readable as Josephine. These same errors occur in the Ancestry.com information, since they have taken the 1880 census transcription of the LDS library.
Two children, Lucy and Kelly (Cally?), reported by Bertie L McSwain, are missing from this census. It is not clear where they are in the birth order. Bertie lists Lucy before Fannie and Kelly after Fannie.
The report of Carson Wallace as a stepson of John W Miller indicates that Mary Wallis Miller was previously married to someone named Wallace. (This is probably only another spelling for Wallis.) The Miller genealogy reports that John and Mary married in 1865, so Carson's birthin about 1863 would indicate that John was not his father. John and Mary got married in the home of Mrs Sarah Wallis. This, then, must beMary's mother-in-law form her first marriage. As of October 2008, I do not have further information about the Wallis/Wallace family.
